Swancor's "Recyclable Thermoset CFRP Composite Bike" won the 2023 JEC Composites Innovation Awards, this  bicycle is made from Swancor's recyclable thermosetting resin "EzCiclo", Swancor’s team and partner GIGANTEX Composite Technologies. 

Over the last 25 years, the JEC Composites Innovation Program has involved more than 1,900 companies worldwide. 214 companies and 527 partners have been rewarded for the excellence of their composites’ innovations.

The competition is open to any company or R&D Center with a strong collaborative innovation or concept to present. The success of each competitor is closely linked to the partnerships and collective intelligence involved. The categories cover all the applicative markets: Automotive and Road Transportation, Aerospace, Defense, Security & Ballistics, Renewable Energy, Building & Construction, Infrastructure & Civil Engineering, Oil & Gas, Medical & Prosthetics, Electronics, Industrial Equipment, Furniture & Appliances, Sports & Leisure and Marine.

This year, total 33 companies were into the finalists and only 11 companies won awards.

"EzCiclo" uses innovative chemical methods to change the recycling rules, enabling us to achieve our goals of resource efficiency and sustainability. The entire process reduces the consumption of raw materials and increases the possibility of material reuse, providing a recyclable solution for promoting green circular economy. This has established a commercial model and industry value chain for the recycling of thermoset materials that was previously considered impossible.

Currently, Swancor EzCiclo resins have obtained ISO 14021 certification, and the recycle rate of composites made of SWANCOR EzCiclo could be higher than 95%. SWANCOR EzCiclo can be widely used in industries such as wind turbine blades, sports, railway and transportation, marine, and the automotive industry.

The JEC Composites Innovation Award demonstrates the achievability of Swancor EzCiclo in the field of sports, and the innovative ability of Swancor in the field of composite materials.
